Tchin, Tchin...Cheers!

"Tchin, Tchin", Cheers!
For you or a gift for a friend, the sentiment is the same,
"Cheers!".
The painting is saturated with color, the peonies are pink, coral and light orange.
My watercolors involve a multi-step process,
which is finished in gold leaf for an added elegant aesthetic.
Trendy and fun, yet sophisticated and classic.
Unexpected fun!

Peonies in a Vase - Original Watercolor Painting - 12x12

I have taken the photos from several different angles.
Standing directily in front of the painting the gold highlights are very subtle, from an angle the gold catches your eye with glints of light that vary depending on the setting or time of day.

Painting ships in a clear sleeve with a sturdy backing.
Each one is wrapped like a gift, whether it is for you or a friend.
It always feels special opening a pretty package!
Don't you agree?
For clients in the US, shipping is complimentary.

Watercolor Design!

One of the artists I hold in high esteem is
Carolyn Quartermaine.
I have loved her art for years.
Her airy, light, colorful design takes my breath away.
See for yourself!
Don't you agree??

Who Was Florence Broadhurst?

That was the question I asked myself when I saw the new campaign for
Kate Spade, "Year of Color"
.
I am a huge fan of black and white design
and I love the backdrop and large scale repeat on their new merchandise.

held answers to my question.
Their manufacturing facilities are located in Australia.
David and Helen Lennie are the proud custodians of the extraordinary
Florence Broadhurst design library.
Florence Broadhurst was born in Queensland, Australia
and she traveled the world,
 eventually returning to Sydney,
where she began painting and designing prolifically.

She started her own hand painted wallpaper business in 1959.

But you have to go take a look at
There is fascinating video, vibrant design, merchandise, graphic room inspiration
and if you are in Australia...
you may even take a tour!
Okay, I've given you the black and white...
But she designed flamboyant wall papers in vibrant color!
Architectural Digest did a brief, but interesting article on her complete with photos.
 Now go see for yourself!
Did it inspire you?
