Cool Collage Tool at PicMonkey!

This post may seem somewhat self indulgent,
The Flight of the Bumblebee Series..again..
but let me explain!
I have never attended a blog conference.
Everything I do at Limezinnias Design have learned exploring.
or asking questions.
I often use PicMonkey, a site which has
free online photo editing tool.
 Although, I use PicMonkey frequently,
I found out about the collage technique this morning reading
For great blogging tips and beautiful interiors
go see for yourself!
In the meantime...I am going to "play"! :)

What Inspires You?

If asked the question, "What Inspires You?",
Every one of us would have a different answer.
Our response would differ from day to day
Depending on our circumstances
Today, for me it was a design.
Presently, in marketing I have noticed several companies who have been in
business for generations
capitalizing on their experience and craftsmanship.
This adds value and esteem to a product some would just consider...
"Expensive".
One such company is Louis Vuitton .
Louis Vuitton – Invitation Origami | Happycentro

.
Companies such as this also employ and commission artisans
that are master's in their field.
This beautiful origami invitation is designed by HappyCentro.
To view and admire the full design evolution (even how to fold this origami)
go here.
I am not showing it all here on my blog because I want you to visit their site.
Is this entire process not gorgeous?

Here's a Visual!

I hope you are enjoying your summer,
gearing up for the
Fourth of July!
I know we are!
Here is an example of what one of my abstract paintings looks like framed.
I deliberately chose a silver frame,
although the art is embellished with the gold leaf.
I think they compliment each other.
I have always love gold and silver together.
The art would look more formal in a gold frame
and more contemporary in white.
Choose your frame based on your design aesthetic.

Who Was Florence Broadhurst?

That was the question I asked myself when I saw the new campaign for
Kate Spade, "Year of Color"
.
I am a huge fan of black and white design
and I love the backdrop and large scale repeat on their new merchandise.

held answers to my question.
Their manufacturing facilities are located in Australia.
David and Helen Lennie are the proud custodians of the extraordinary
Florence Broadhurst design library.
Florence Broadhurst was born in Queensland, Australia
and she traveled the world,
 eventually returning to Sydney,
where she began painting and designing prolifically.

She started her own hand painted wallpaper business in 1959.

But you have to go take a look at
There is fascinating video, vibrant design, merchandise, graphic room inspiration
and if you are in Australia...
you may even take a tour!
Okay, I've given you the black and white...
But she designed flamboyant wall papers in vibrant color!
Architectural Digest did a brief, but interesting article on her complete with photos.
 Now go see for yourself!
Did it inspire you?
